
As your host I just wanted to let
you know who we are and how Blingles got started.
Blingles began because I wondered how Black
men and women in Toronto meet up if we often
don’t talk to each other.
There are two types of people, those who talk about
things and those who make things happen. I got tired
of talking about what I noticed within this age
demographic and decided to do something about it
. Who am I? I am a single sister over 30 who has
taken on something and put in a lot of time and
effort to make it a success. What is a Blingle?
A Blingles is a Black Single person 30 and above.
Now, what’s interesting
is that once you take a chance and try something
you are subject to being blogged, public scrutiny
and other things, but that’s okay, because
I know that in life we can’t please everyone.
I have had enough positive feed back, interacted
with amazing members and met some fantastic people
since I started this venture in July of 2004. So
now here is a bit more about Blingles.
Blingles has
a membership program it runs from April 1st – April
30th of each year. There are Membership Fees and
all Members get to sign up for the smaller events
before anyone else, and there are other perks to
being a member such as reduced service fees to smaller
events, and other Membership promotions.
All events
are advertised through our e mail list, flyers or
cards only, and once you register for our e list
you will get the promotions before it goes out to
the general public.

All our promo goes to...
A. our Members first... which is why
a list for a smaller event might be full
each time you try to sign up. It is the
privilege for all our full Blingles Members
to be able to sign up for our events first.
You cannot sign up for a friend; the responsibility is on
each individual to sign up for a particular event
C. All info is kept confidential
and not shared, from our e list sign up
to the information you give us when you
sign up for an event.

B. Promo for our smaller
events usually goes out 2
– 2 and 1/2 weeks prior to the event. If you
have been accepted you receive a Congratulations you
will be attending ... e mail ... Our events are usually
confirmed 4 - 5 days prior to the event, and all of
those who received the congrats e mail will then get
the secret location, information and other details.
(We don't do any sign ups the day before or the day of an
event- so if you receive no response, it's because it's past
the sign up deadline and all participants have been confirmed)
(Some events may be postponed or even cancelled due to not
enough numbers to run a small event)
D. Our Smaller events are
always for groups of 6-12 people. (Guess
Who’s Coming
To Dinner. Pass The Popcorn, 15 Minutes
of Conversation and much more) |
Our Main events are for 50 - 200 people - once
a Main event is posted, we will have a period
of time for advanced ticket sales, or you can
pay at the door.
Main Events Include...
Bus Trips, Plane Trips, and other main event nights with
specific themes.
So Far we have had... Blingles 1, Blingles Eve, Spring Bling,
Blingles Summertime Jam, and there is more to come
Service Fees:

fees are $70.00 for the year. Our Season Runs
April - April of each year. |
Our Service Fee for
Smaller Events are $10.00 for non members and
$3.00 for members (per event) |
Single Events world
wide, charge a Membership Fee plus a service
fee of $50.00 - $150.00 per event. |
Blingles has the cheapest prices and service fees anywhere
in the world.
So there you have it, a bit of information about
who we are… so SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT BLINGLES
... AND MEN WHO HAVE ATTENDED LET THE BROTHAS KNOW...
That there is no pressure at Blingles events; just
fun, laughter, and good conversation.

The Blingles Rules Of Order
Before we get started… Blingles is not a match making service but rather fun events
providing a positive and FUN atmosphere so that you might
just meet that special someone. And if you don’t meet
that someone special, that’s okay too, because you
just might make a friend.
THE RULES
Rule #1
In order to
attend Blingles you must truly be single and must not suffer
from girlfriend/boyfriend or wife/husband amnesia.
Rule #1a
YOU MUST BE ON TIME!!!! Whatever time is specified for the
event, is the actual time the event starts… Don’t
try to be fashionably late, (or you’ll miss everything)
Rule #2
You should leave your business cards at home, but
be ready to have good conversation, and not hide behind what
you do for a living.
Rule #3
You should come with an open
mind and ready to have a good time. Leave all attitudes at
the door and whatever else happened to you that day.
Rule #4
You should not wear your heart on your sleeve and throw
all caution to the wind, in hopes of finding your soul mate,
but come looking good, feeling good and have the attitude… if
it happens it happens, but I’m going to enjoy myself
in the process.
Rule #5
At the Main Events you must take
part in the interactive games. There will be interaction
from the time you enter the door, and we always fun contests… The
Old Skool Face Off and The Dating Game, Switch, or other
games depending on which Main Event you are attending. (Sitting
with your arms folded and looking angry is not what we do
at Blingles)
Rule #6
There is no specific dress code at Blingles;
but bare in mind that these are singles events, so you should
Dress To Impress, or at least make an effort. (First impressions
can last a long time)
Rule #7
When we have the smaller events
which are for 6-12 people, remember keep the conversation
light, and fun.
Rule # 8
Smile, enjoy yourself and don’t
be afraid to try something new.
