Locally she has performed in Up From The Roots – When Sisters Speak, Words Aloud, Irie Fest, and Urban Noise. In October, 2018 she reunited with her acapella singing group Four The Moment to open up for American political activist, academic and author Angela Davis at the Dalhousie University Belong Forum.  In 2019 she will have two plays on stage, Scotian Journey, will have a World Premiere at Black Theatre Workshop and The Three Friends will be part of the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts Education Series. Her sold out comedy show Black Like She was a huge hit at 120 Diner in October and she’s working on an International Women’s day Black Like She Event.  This poetic sista loves both sides of the stage as producer and performer she loves to challenge creative boundaries and JAZZETRY will Bend Genres, Mix Styles and show you that Spoken Word had no limits.

Areta Marshall is a sultry voiced poet who can leave you at the edge of your seat as she shares real stories of the heart mind and body. As a teen she was motivated to write after reading the Poetry Corner in the Toronto Sun Newspaper and that passion for reading launched her own burning designer to poeticize her feelings. More than just therapeutic, her love for writing helped to quiet the voices speaking to her soul.

Harmony Pike the Soulful Poetess and Songstress is a young powerful performer who not only has an earthy soulful voice but she is also a skilled musician as she strums the beats to her original penned songs. As a poetic lyricist she captivates her audience and treats each performance like it’s her last. Whether she’s singing songs that make you feel good or sharing her painful melodies. Music is her truth and songwriting her therapist and the audience her muse.

Fabio Parovelthe Musician’s Musician, a blues guitarist who plays in a way that enhances every show he’s in. From sympathetic support to scorching leads, Fab’s fretwork is the perfect foil for vocalists and soloists alike! He has been a part of the Toronto music scene for over 25 years and plays a variety styles including blues, R&B, gospel, rock & country music. He’s shared a stage with musicians such as, Hock Walsh, Mel Brown, Denis Keldie, Lance Armstrong, John Dickie, Ray Harrison, Gene Hardy, Al Lerman, Jesse Whitely & Mark Stafford.

Jef Kearns the Soul Flautist has proven that the flute is not a background instrument but it can be the heart and soul of any live performance. Jef has performed at TD Jazz Festival, been featured in Trey Anthony’s production at St Lawrence Centre for the Arts, and performed at renowned NYC venues such as The Village Underground and Nuyorican Poets Cafe. Jef’s YouTube cover of Warren G’s “Regulate” was recently featured in world renowned Hip Hop at Higher Level “XXL Magazine”
