Anne-Marie Woods is also known as AMANI. She is  the 2013 recipient of the BBPA Harry Jerome Award for Excellence in Entertainment(a prestigious national award). She has a theatre arts degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She also received a one year music scholarship to study at the Nova Scotia Conservatory of Music. She completed a self-directed internship at Freedom Theatre in Philadelphia, one of the oldest and most prestigious Black Theatres in North America.  While at Freedom Theatre she underwent an Advanced August Wilson Scene Study class, was assistant to the director Walter Dallas, and was an advanced and beginner acting teacher. In 2007 she earned a small business certificate through the HRDC Self Employment Program and used this knowledge to launch her Coaching, Producing and Consulting services

 Anne-Marie Woods aka AMANI is an innovator. She is consistently dependable and resourceful. She has been presenting cultural and educational workshops for schools, corporations and community based organizations for well over 20 years.  Her extensive background in recreation, community outreach, anti-racist education, media, theatre arts, writing and production make her an expert in her field. She has a clear understanding of her customers’ requirements and needs, she is able to develop scripts or provide a unique creative and personal touch to her one on one coaching.

Her Extensive background in the arts and her years of experience as a Director or Coordinator of Not for Profit outreach programs makes her well connected to numerous organizations in Canada and Abroad. Some of her associates have been: Harbourfront Centre (Producer of Kuumba theatre based and comedy showcases, emcee on the main stage, and producer of Shield to shore spoken word and music showcases), Daniels Corporation and Artscape (Creative Director, Production Coordinator and Writer of the Script Adaptation for The Journey – The Living History of Regent Park – a multi-disciplinary theatrical show that featured Jackie Richardson, Jeremiah Sparks and fused together professional artists, emerging artists and youth from the Regent Park community), Young Peoples Theatre (Senior Theatre Instructor and an Artist Educator in residence responsible for developing and producing 2 WORD UP!! Spoken Word Rap and Theatre Showcases), University of the West Indies (Facilitator for spoken word theatre and movement as part of a 3 month artist in residence placement working with Wordsmiths a youth spoken word program), Black Theatre Workshop in Montreal
